"Shot Heard Around the World"

In 1951 the then Brooklyn Dodgers played a one game playoff with the New York Giants to determine which team would play the mighty New York Yankees in the World Series. The Dodgers Ralph Branca pitched to the Giants Bobby Thomson in the bottom of the ninth and Bobby clubbed it for a game winning home run. In this 8x10 photo the Dodgers and their star Jackie Robinson watch in despair as Bobby Thomson and the Giants celebrate. A Steiner Sports Certificate of Authenticity is included.
