With two outs in the bottom of the ninth inning in the first game of the 1988 World Series, Kirk Gibson, despite injuries to both legs, went to bat as a pinch hitter. Oakland Athletics relief pitcher Dennis Eckersley was one pitch away from winning the first game when Gibson remarkably hit a two-run home run off of a back-door slider into the right field stands. The National League MVP had created the most memorable first game victory and set the winning tone for the rest of the series. Kirk Gibson has hand signed this incredible high quality digital 8x10 photograph. A Steiner Sports Certificate of Authenticity is included
